Jake Busey Trivia Son of Gary Busey. Plays the drums in a band called "Feedback". Has a pilot's license. He and his father Gary Busey have both appeared in adaptations of John Grisham novels. Gary Busey was in The Firm, and Jake appears in Christmas with the Kranks. During the filming of Starship Troopers, (1997) Jake nearly suffered a heat stroke, so underneath the armor on his costume several large holes were cut on his shirt so he could cool off.
